Donald H. Rogers, Q.C.

Don Rogers is a founding partner of the law firm. A graduate of the University of Toronto Law School, he was called to the Bar in 1970 and appointed Queen's Counsel in 1982. Mr. Rogers is an experienced trial counsel. He has argued cases at all levels of trial and appellate courts and before numerous administrative tribunals. His cases cover a broad spectrum of litigation including personal injury, professional, medical and legal malpractice, products liability, transportation, class actions and commercial disputes. He has provided counsel to large insurers, school boards and government agencies, gas and electric utilities and regulatory tribunals. He is a fellow of the College of American Trial Lawyers. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada in Energy Regulatory Law, Insurance Law, and Personal Injury Litigation.

John D. Strung

John D. Strung, a founding member of the firm, received his Honours B.Sc., M.Sc. in Physics and B.Ed. from the University of Toronto, subsequently received his LL.B. from the same institution, and was called to the Bar in 1979. He has extensive experience in insurance litigation, including professional errors and omissions actions related to insurance agents, adjusters, real estate agents and appraisers, as well as personal injury litigation and cargo litigation. He is an expert on the conflicts of law issues and has appeared on numerous occasions at the appellate level to argue jurisdictional issues. Mr. Strung contributed to the drafting of The Registered Insurance Brokers Act, R.S.O. 1980, c.444.

P. Diane McDowell

P. Diane McDowell received both her B.A. and LL.B. from Queen's University and was called to the Bar in 1981. A founding member of the firm, Ms. McDowell has a civil litigation practice encompassing personal injury, occupiers' liability, insurance law, products liability, institutional sexual abuse and administrative law matters. She has appeared before all levels of Ontario courts and many boards and tribunals. She has instructed at the Bar Admission Course as well as at a number of continuing education and advocacy training courses.

Stephen G. Ross

Stephen G. Ross is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario where he received both his B.A. (Dean's Honour List) and LL.B. and was called to the Bar in 1993. While at Western Mr. Ross was the recipient of numerous awards and commendations for both athletic and academic distinction. Mr. Ross's practice includes civil litigation matters related to insurance law, personal injury actions and medical-legal issues. Mr. Ross has written several articles including a comparison of automobile insurance compensation legislation since 1990.

Diane G. Craig

Diane G. Craig received her B.A. from the University of Toronto and her LL.B from Osgoode Hall Law School. She was called to the Bar in 1996. Ms. Craig practises in the field of civil litigation and administrative law including personal injury, insurance law and employment matters.

Kevin Adams

Kevin Adams graduated with an Honours B.A. in 1994 and received his LL.B. in 1998 both from the University of Western Ontario. He practises civil litigation and administrative law at Rogers Partners LLP. Mr. Adams has broad experience in the areas of insurance law, personal injury, product liability, professional negligence and class proceedings. He appears regularly before all levels of courts and administrative tribunals and has acted as lead counsel on numerous trials, appeals, motions, arbitrations, and administrative tribunal hearings.

Julie A. Dabrusin

Julie A. Dabrusin received her B.A. (First Class Honours) from McGill University and her LL.B. from the University of Toronto where she was a member of the Dean's Honour List. She won an award for the highest standing in Estates Planning. She was called to the Bar in 1999. Ms. Dabrusin's practice is in the field of civil litigation, including insurance law, personal injury actions, professional errors and omissions and products liability matters.

Jean-Claude Rioux

Jean-Claude Rioux received his B.A. (Honours) from McGill University in 1994. He received his LL.B. from Dalhousie, where he was a Law Foundation Scholar. He was called to the Bar of Nova Scotia in 2000 and called to the Bar of Ontario in 2001. He practises civil litigation, focusing on insurance defense and personal injury.

Kelly Smith

Kelly Smith received his LL.B. from the University of Calgary where he was a Senior Editor of the Law Review and a member of the 1999 Canadian Championship Jessup International Moot team. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001. His practice involves many aspects of civil litigation including the defence of property and casualty claims, product liability claims, fire and cargo loss claims and motor vehicle torts. In 2007-2008 Kelly was once again elected to the Executive of the Ontario Bar Association, having served previously in 2002-2003, 2003-2004 and 2005-2006. He has also served on the OBA's Strategic Planning Committee, the Law Day Committee and the Continuing Legal Education Committee. Kelly is a past Chair of the OBA's Young Lawyers' Division and has served nationally on the Canadian Bar Association's Futures Committee. He speaks at and organizes CLE events. He continues to be a member of CBA and the Advocates' Society.

Anita Varjacic

Anita Varjacic received her Honours B.A. in criminology and sociology from the University of Windsor 1998. She subsequently received her LL.B from the University of Western Ontario in 2001 where she was a member of the Dean's Honour List. Following her call to the bar in 2002, Ms. Varjacic joined Rogers Partners LLP (formerly Rogers, Moore) where she practices civil litigation and administrative law, with an emphasis on medical negligence and disciplinary complaints, as well as insurance law and personal injury.

Monique Meloche

Monique Meloche received her Honours B.A. in 1996 and her LL.B in 2001 from the University of Windsor. She joined Rogers Partners LLP (formerly Rogers, Moore) following her call to the bar in 2002. Ms. Meloche practises in the areas of civil litigation and administrative law, including insurance law, personal injury, property claims, occupiers' liability and products liability.

Brian Sunohara

Brian Sunohara graduated with a B.A. from the University of Waterloo in 1999 and an LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 2002. He was called to the bar in 2003. Mr. Sunohara practises civil litigation in the areas of insurance law, automobile accident litigation, occupiers' liability, products liability, municipal liability, and property and cargo claims.

Dana Eichler

Dana Eichler graduated with an Honours B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2000. She received her LL.B from Queens University in 2003. Following her Call to the Bar in 2004 Ms. Eichler joined Rogers Partners LLP (formerly Rogers, Moore), where she practises in the field of civil litigation and administrative law, including personal injury litigation and insurance law.

David Rogers

David Rogers graduated with a B.A. in Canadian history from Dalhousie University in 1999 and an LL.B. from Queen's University in 2003. He joined Rogers Partners LLP following his call to the Bar in 2004. Mr. Rogers practises in a wide variety of litigation matters, including personal injury, environmental claims, administrative law and commercial coverage disputes.

George Wray

George Wray received his B.A., M.A., and LL.B. from Queen's University and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006. While at Queen's Mr. Wray was the recipient of numerous course prizes and awards for academic achievement. He practices in the fields of civil litigation and administrative law.

Murleen Grant

Murleen Grant received her LL.B from Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom, where she was admitted as a Solicitor in 1998. Ms. Grant joined Rogers Partners LLP in 2003. Following her Call to the Bar in 2007 she practises in the field of civil litigation including personal injury litigation and insurance law.

Emma Barz

Emma Barz graduated with an Honours B.A in History and English Literature from McGill University in 2002. She received her LL. B. from Queen's University in 2006, where she was involved with the Queen's Legal Aid clinic. Ms. Barz joined Rogers Partners LLP after her Call to the Bar in 2007, where she practises in the field of civil litigation and administrative law, including personal injury litigation and insurance law.

Brendan Haynes

Brendan Haynes graduated with an Honours B.A. in Philosophy and Sociology from McGill University in 2000. He received his LLB from the University of Ottawa in 2006. Mr Haynes was called to the Bar in 2007 and joined Rogers Partners LLP in 2008. He practices in the field of civil litigation.
